Friday 2nd May: INCAHOOTS special spoken word and live music event with artist interviews:

Doors open : 7pm / First performance 8pm

Come along and delve deep with us into the incredible work of our 9 selected artists, accompanied by spoken word poetry, live music & artist interviews for the return of this very special INCAHOOTS 2.0 event!

Enjoy the soulful vibes of new era hip hop, the inspiring poetry from spoken word artists & insights into the creative process from the artists themselves.

The last show was amazing, this night will be even better.

Performers

  • Aldous C Squire - actor, performer, playwright and poet

    Aldous C Squire

    Aldous is a London based actor & writer, with most of his work being created through the use of spoken word poetry & movement.

    Raised in the dynamic streets of London, his work reflects what’s around him by bringing up themes of companionship, nostalgia and what home really is to us. He touches on conversations that may usually be difficult to speak about, by being truthful, open-minded and honest with where he is at in life. He hopes you feel the same throughout his work and is excited to share it with you.

  • Poppy Eliza is a writer and performer from South London. A member of the National Youth Theatre and Young Pleasance, she’s also trained with Act Up North and The Unseen.

    Poppy Eliza is a writer and performer from South London. A member of the National Youth Theatre and Young Pleasance, she’s also trained with Act Up North and The Unseen.

    She most recently performed at Mirror Up Productions’ Reflections and Bread and Roses’ Raise the Vibration V-Day.

    Her writing focuses on mental health, the realities of being twenty-something-years-old - constantly feeling like you’re running out of time and questioning what you’re doing with your life - alongside navigating life with anxiety, depression (woo!).

    She’s currently developing a one-woman play about growing up, mental health (shocker!), family relationships and grief.

  • Southy - singer and rapper

    Southy

    Southy is a rapper and singer from South East London. Combining melodic rap and summer sounds to bring forward a laid-back yet upbeat vibe to the stage,

    Southy represents the sounds of London and the younger people who need a voice in the world.

    Performing at festivals and multiple venues around London, he reaches a diverse audience of cultures and age, and connects with other artists he meets to form new sounds.

  • Alfiah Jade spoken word artist

    Alfiah Jade

    Alfiah Jade is a Poet and trained Facilitator with a background in creative writing and performing arts/ theatre. Alfiah creates multi-disciplined work, using a community outreach approach to collaborate with organisations who seek to amplify less heard voices and people from underrepresented backgrounds. Her main field is amongst Young people  + Mental health/wellbeing.

    Her work covers and tackles a wide range of themes, stories, topical issues, such as Race, Identity, and Social politics which aid towards healing cultural and racial trauma through an Afrocentric perspective.

    Her work ultimately strives to encourage change and healing amongst the generations to come through social reflection, engagement and education whilst conjunctively promoting and shaping positive messages through producing bodies of work through facilitating workshops/exhibitions, new writing and directing visual based concepts/ideas.

  • Imani Yahshua, poet and spoken word artist

    Imani Yahshua

    Born and raised in Baltimore City in the United States, Image found music at a young age. In a city where the crime rate is higher than the graduation rate, it seemed like music was his only escape.

    He found himself on the other side of the world. He writes music about those times, and the times to come. He wants to share it with you.

  • Emma McGordon spoken word poet

    Emma McGordon

    Emma is a Working Class, Queer, Northern artist. She has been writing and performing for many years and has won numerous awards. She is interested in sharing her own experience and vulnerability in the hope for shared experience and connection.

    She enjoys working with language in a way that pushes it to the point of breakage so that it is able to expand and reform.

    Her work is often image based and narrative led, capturing moments in time and asking the listener to question how we perceive one another  and how we think we are being perceived.

  • Rithvik Andugula - spoken word poet - performing at Incahoots, October 2024

    Rithvik Andugula

    Rithvik is an artist, who believes that being creative is to be human. Whether it be through his poetry, acting, music or dance, Rithvik hopes to spread joy and spark conversation between people.

    Daytimers have given Rithvik so much support in building his identity, as a British South Asian and he hopes to do the same for those attending through his work.
